I recently had the opportunity to participate in a styled shoot at Pelican Courtyard! This is the beautiful open courtyard right in front of my shop, located in Newport Beach! When events are not going on, this is a wonderful Sunny spot to stop and each lunch in-between work or shopping. The Courtyard is full of beautiful green, clean cut bushes and points toward a white fireplace as the centerpiece of the altar. Our aesthetic for this shoot was black and white elegance, so it was easy to fit together with the squared off edges of the bushes and the white accents on the surrounding buildings! I was asked to use white anemone with a black center as the main focal point of the florals, so I decided to go with a more modern feel for this shoot! Being that all of the other flowers were white, I wanted to use black ribbon to incorporate both colors equally! We mainly focused on creating a faux-altar and tablescapes for this shoot, so I had a chance to use these gorgeous, modern looking matte black vases that added so much personality to the centerpieces! A black and white aesthetic is not always easy as a florist, so I had to get creative and am so happy with how the balance of the two neutrals turned out!
All of the other participating vendors were so sweet, and it is always fun to meet and mingle with others in the wedding industry! This was our first styled shoot in a while, and I am looking forward to more in the coming year!
