Doing a wedding at a venue as well-known and elegant and Pelican Hill is such a compliment as a floral designer!
I love all kinds of different venues, so this one was great to check off my professional bucket list. If you are not familiar with Pelican Hill, it is a resort and restaurant on the Newport Coast with the most gorgeous view overlooking their golf-course and the sea. If you ever have a chance, go grab a drink there at their happy hour – great prices and a gorgeous view of the beach sunset.
This super fun wedding was of course “micro” style in order to adhere to the CDC’s guidelines. The bride Ashlyn explained to me that she didn’t want this event to necessarily compete with her later, larger ceremony, so we decided to keep her florals in a neutral, peaceful toned color palette (as shown below). The bride chose creamy colored garden roses and soft grey-greens, with an ultra feminine feel to compliment the classic architectural design of the Pelican Hill venue.
Ashlyn was so sweet and I enjoyed working with her! I can’t wait to continue working with her on her official large wedding next year. And I hope to return to Pelican Hill for work soon – or if not, to enjoy their gorgeous views!
